Witnessing ourselves and our lives through community is essential.This is damned tricky considering the families and communities many of us were born into. In many cases its not reflection of our own inner light that we receive from others, but rather a projection of their own limitations.  Many families and communities are simply unable to see you for who you are.

Families, communities and society in general often send strong unspoken messages to us to behave against our inner guidance. Lots of people are so out of touch, they aren’t even aware of how these heavy negative energies are harming them. Simply recognizing the limits of your family and society helps you put it in perspective so you can consciously recognize that you need the kind of tribe that honors you. In other words, know where to go to get your batteries recharged!

Choose a tribe that celebrates the unique longings within you. So many light workers felt isolated, weird and lost growing up. But now its time to shine. Community comes in many flavors and as the flavors of your life change, so do you need to expand your community to support you in moving forward.

Give because it feels great to give to others on similar paths. (If you’re not naturally a giver, my material is not for you anyway.) But also remember that energy flows and the people of your tribe want to give to you as well. Give givers an open heart to receiving. For heart centered people, giving is essential to life. That is who you are as a light worker. But be strong about holding vigil over your heart. Your own light is absolutely your most precious commodity. Your light is paramount to feeling good, doing the work you were put on the earth for and sharing in this world. You come first! Got it?

And just a side note here, unfortunately, there are people who want to steal from you.They steal energy mostly to feel better about themselves at your expense. Yet there are some people who are nastier than that. Trust yourself to move on from people who don’t feel good to you. It is not your job to heal people. Yes, you may be a healer, but that is for a fair exchange of energy (in the form of money or other trade). Love is about both parties equally sharing in a dance of energies that ebb and flow, rising and falling, but also a dance that elevates all.
